Moving home is something you don’t undertake on a routine basis, so we’ve prepared a basic guide to some of the questions you may have.

How soon before moving do I need to book a home survey?

Generally, about four to six weeks prior to your moving day.

How much notice would I need to provide in order to book a removal service?

The average time frame is seven to fourteen days to make a booking. The more notice, the better.

Do you provide packing materials?

We can provide an assortment of packing materials, all of which are delivered to your home prior to removal day.

Can you provide a professional packing service?

We can supply a full professional packing service and unpacking service, if required, all of which are tailored to your requirements.

Do you provide hanging garment carriers?

All our vehicles come complete with hanging garment carriers as standard.

Do you provide a furniture dismantling and reassemble service?

Although we are not furniture manufacturers we can dismantle and reassemble most kinds of furniture e.g. beds, wardrobes and tables etc.

Do you disconnect and reconnect kitchen appliances?

No, we do not offer this service. These specific items should be disconnected and reconnected by a qualified, registered trade person.

How many staff will there be on removal day ? what size of vehicle will I receive?

We operate a wide range of vehicles,  sizes from 3.5 ton Luton vans to 18 ton large removal vans, the size of which for your move will be ascertained at the time of our home survey. We supply a minimum of two members of staff on removal day, or more depending on the size of your move and the services you require.

How much space do i need to leave outside my home for parking on removal day?

At least 75 feet. It is also your responsibility to obtain any parking permits or documents, if required, in order for us to carry out your removal service safely and efficiently.

How do I pay for my removal service?

We offer a variety of ways to pay for example debit/credit card – bank transfer – cash or cheque, all of which must be made at the time of booking in order to secure your move. please note if you are paying by cheque this must be banked and cleared funds available at least seven days prior to your move.

Are my belongings insured with you?

We offer a range of insurance cover for removals and storage services. As everyone’s personal circumstances are completely different. This would generally be discussed at the time of your home survey.

Do you remove outside garden - garage and shed contents?

yes we can undertake all aspects of moving from household furniture to external items for example a patio set – work bench – push bikes – garden tools – jet wash – lawn mower and flower pots etc

Do you empty the contents of my loft?

If you have adequate flooring – lighting and stair casing (not loft ladders), and the loft is free from loose insulation, we would empty the contents from the loft. Otherwise,  it is your responsibility to empty the loft contents in advance of your removal day.

what happens if i have a booking for a removal service and unexpectedly have to change or cancel my moving date?

Unless you have taken out a postponement / cancelation waiver service or provide us with more than seven days’ notice for a change of circumstances penalty charges will apply all of which can be found on your quotation and our relevant terms and conditions 

What happens if due to some unforeseen circumstance you can't immediately gain access to my new home upon arrival at the destination address for example i am wating for the keys to be released or someone is still moving out of the property?

Unless you have taken out a waiting time / late key waiver service additional charges will apply on the day all of which can be found on your quotation and our relevant terms and conditions

Do i need to obtain any parking permits - paperwork etc in order for you to park your removal vehicle outside my home at the collection and destination address on moving day?

If your property at the collection and destination address is located in a restricted area, then yes, it is your responsibility to contact your local council authority and obtain any relevant parking permits – visitor passes – documentation etc in order for us to carry out your move in accordance with legal requirements. It is also your responsibility to contact your local highways agency if you need to place traffic cones outside your home in order to save a parking space for a large removal vehicle where required again at the collection and destination address

 

. Are their any restricted items you will not take - load and transport on your removal vehicle to my new home?

Yes, there are several items which we are not permitted to take for example gas cylinders – white spirit – paint – oil petrol etc and any other form of corrosive or flammable substances. We are also not allowed to transport any animals such as birds – fish – rabbits – guinea pigs and any other forms of livestock although we can normally transport their living accommodation hutch – cages and tanks etc by prior arrangement.

Do you cover and protect my furniture - white goods etc when loading them direct onto your removal vehicle?

Yes, all our vehicles come complete with transit blankets to protect your furniture – padded quilted click and-zip heavy-duty sofa and mattress covers – padded quilted large tv covers and strong webbing to secure your goods when the vehicle is in motion.
